About me
Kathy Lawrence, LCSWI am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Masters in Social Work with honors in 2004. For the past fifteen years I have worked with individuals, adolescents, couples and families in a variety of settings.

I inherently enjoy engaging with people in the deeper concerns of their lives. I believe the work people do in counseling is meaningful, important and thankfully often leaves them happier and with a better understanding of themselves and others.

I have successfully worked with a wide range of issues including: relationships, identity, communication, conflict, depression, loneliness, motivation, eating concerns, sexuality, grief, peer relationships, adult siblings, feeling stuck, self esteem, and adolescence. Gay and lesbian individuals, couples, and families are welcome.

I also enjoy working with individuals and families who feel overall they are doing pretty well, but they would like to look at improving how they communicate, love, create meaning or negotiate their lives.

I have additional training in the following areas: emotionally focused couples therapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, emotional intelligence, structural and strategic family counseling, self-esteem and resiliency in adolescent girls, issues of sexuality, anger management, divorce prevention, suicide risk assessment and prevention, understanding the adolescent brain.
